She-Hulk First Reactions Label It the Best MCU Series on Disney+

The first reactions to She-Hulk: Attorney at Law are in and the critics are loving Jen Walters' Marvel Cinematic Universe debut.

Following the series premiere, many audience members took to social media to share their thoughts on the latest installment in the expansive superhero franchise. Those in attendance widely noted that the show sets a new standard for the MCU's burgeoning foray into the world of TV, praising star Tatiana Maslany's dedicated and witty performance as a highlight. ScreenRant's Molly Freeman wrote that while She-Hulk is "fully entrenched" in Marvel's on-screen world, it's still able to deliver a story that's both fresh and new. Entertainment journalist Rob Keyes voiced similar thoughts, labeling Attorney at Law the MCU's funniest series yet due to its unique meta style.

Fandango's Erik Davis wrote that while She-Hulk may focus less on superhero action, it manages to stay entertaining with its comedy. He also states that while the series is often silly in its humor, it's intelligent with its "sitcom vibes." DiscussingFilm's Yasmine Kandil writes that the first episode of the series is a slow burner but Attorney at Law manages to pick up the pace in the subsequent chapters, progressively growing stronger.

She-Hulk Smashes the Fourth Wall
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law chronicles the origin story of Jennifer Walters, the cousin of Dr. Bruce Banner aka The Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). After learning that she can also turn into a powerful green hero, Jen must learn to balance her life as a superhero and a high-profile lawyer. The series is billed as the MCU's first real comedy and will feature plenty of major cameos from Marvel characters like Abomination (Tim Roth), Wong (Benedict Wong) and Matt Murdock aka Daredevil (Charlie Cox).

While the series has yet to debut, many fans are already comparing She-Hulk to Deadpool, given that both characters have a tendency to break the fourth wall for the sake of comedy. Creator and head writer Jessica Gao notes that these comparisons don't necessarily hold up since Jen Walters was speaking directly to the audience long before Wade Wilson. "If you know anything about She-Hulk the character, you would know that she [did that]," Gao said, going on to joke that Deadpool actually copied She-Hulk.

She-Hulk premieres on Disney+ on Aug. 18. New episodes of the show arrive every Thursday.
