Pixel 7a could pack a FHD+ 90Hz screen, wireless charging

Google introduced the Pixel 6a earlier this year, recently a Pixel phone with the codename Lynx (L10) surfaced last month that hinted at high-end specs. Now the same developer Kuba Wojciechowski has revealed that there are changes in the specs, so it should be Pixel 7a, since the camera set up is called “Pixel 22 Mid-range” compared to “Pixel 22 Premium” for the Pixel 7/Pro.

The phone is now said to feature a 64MP Sony IMX787 sensor, a major upgrade from the IMX363 in the 6a, and there will be a Sony IMX712 ultra-wide sensor. Google has removed references to 50MP Samsung GN1 sensor, so it could probably be used for testing.

He also said that the phone will pack a FHD+ 90Hz screen, an upgrade from 60Hz screen, and the phone will come with support for wireless charging.

The source code already revealed Qualcomm WCN6740 Wi-Fi 6E + BT combo chip for the phone, compared to Broadcom BCM4389 chip in the Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 series. Could it be a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip in the 7a instead of Tensor G2? We should know soon.

The Pixel 7a is expected sometime in the second half of 2023, and we should know more details in the coming months.
